Nepalgunj (Banke), June 8: The National Conference-2026 themed ' Technology for Transformation' organised by the Lumbini Technological University concluded on Sunday.
The Conference centered on technology, research, and innovation, emphasizing the exploration of IT-based practical solutions for sustainable development in the Lumbini Province, strengthening of collaboration among educational institutions, industries, and government entities and the promotion of research initiatives.
The two-day event brought together experts from engineering, information technology, research, and innovation fields, along with professors, researchers, and students.
According to University Dean Dr Niraj KC, the conference aimed to identity practical, technology-driven solutions for the sustainable development of the province. Issues such as rising temperatures, water management challenges, and local development concerns challenges were also discussed during the event.
University Vice Chancellor Pro Dr Binod Prasad Dhakal said the event saw the participation of students from Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet and Butwal, and it is expected to support the goal of developing Nepalgunj as a hub for technology and innovation.
During a panel discussion, Sanjay Thapa was of the opinion that trans-border relations can be utilised as the take-off point to connect Nepalgunj with information technology. He said that, for this purpose, students from Utter Pradesh and Bihar, India could be encouraged. He also stressed that society should be made more aware of the significance of information technology.
It is worth noting that the University, established as a pride project of Lumbini Province, has already successfully organised a symposium, an international conference, and a national conference during its three-year journey since the establishment. (RSS)
