By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 29: The line-up for the 12th edition of the Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival has been announced. The festival organiser revealed the list of films in the documentary, short, animation and fiction subcategories on Wednesday.
According to the organisers, 47 films from 23 countries, including Nepal, have been selected for the festival.
Among the films in the competition category are ‘All We Imagine as Light’ by Payal Kapadia, the Grand Jury Prize winner at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, ‘The Man Who Could not Remain Silent’, which won an award in the short section, ‘An Odd Turn, an award-winning short at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, ‘Anar Dana’ which received the Generation K Plus award at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival and ‘Ootide’ which was also selected at Berlin.
In the International Short Documentary Competition, nine documentaries, including ‘How to Please’ have been shortlisted, according to the organisers.
The Human Rights Film Centre, established in 2009, has been regularly organising the festival to promote and showcase films related to human rights.
The centre also conducts various interactions and workshops to advocate for human rights.
The 12th edition of the festival will be held from December 9 to 12 in Kathmandu.
