Damak Municipality providing sanitary pad to women free of cost

By Bishnu Prasad Pokhrel, Damak, Nov 27: Damak Municipality has decided to provide sanitary pad to all women free of cost round the year in the municipality.

Ram Kumar Thapa, Mayor of Damak Municipality, said so in course of the 16-day campaign against gender violence.

Earlier, only the girl-students studying in community schools in the municipality were provided the free sanitary pad.

Mayor Thapa said decision to provide free sanitary pad to all women from the current fiscal year has already been made and being implemented accordingly.

Women can get free sanitary pad from city health center, according to the municipality.

Mayor Thapa said as the issue is related to women rights and health, providing sanitary pad free of cost to women has been taken as a special programme.
