Patan (Lalitpur), Nov. 25: A school hostel building constructed with Japanese support was handed over to the school management committee in Lalitpur district on Monday.
Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Kikuta Yutaka handed over the state-of-the-art hostel building of Kalidevi Secondary School located in Bagmati Rural Municipality-2 in Lalitpur district to the school management committee.
Ambassador Yutaka said that the hostel was constructed with an investment of Rs 20.5 million under the Grassroots Human Security Projects of the Japanese Government.
On the occasion, Ambassador Yutaka appreciated the efforts of all sides involved in the construction job.
With the construction of the hostel, students attending their class after a long walk has ended.
"I am very happy to handover the hostel after its completion. I am confident that this would play a crucial role in making the bright future of the students," the Japanese Ambassador said.
Vice Chairman of Bagmati Rural Municipality Bhakta Bahadur Darlami said that the support made by the Japanese Government and the Embassy was far-reaching.
The school established in 2019 BS has 21 teachers and officials and teaches a total of 349 students including 171 girls.(RSS)
