Kathmandu, Nov 24: President Ramchandra Paudel has given an approval to mobilize the Nepali Army in the upcoming by-election.
The by-election is taking place on December 1 this year for 42 vacant seats in local levels across the country.
President Paudel granted the approval in accordance with Article 66 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, according to Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, Spokesperson at the President's Office.
It may be noted that Council of Ministers on November 21 had decided to deploy army persons to hold the by-election in a safe and peaceful environment and to make it free and fair.
The Cabinet thereafter recommended the President for the approval for the same.(RSS)
