By Rekhi Ram Rana, Tansen, Nov.9: Preparations are underway for the fair, where people shout their wishes, at Satyavati, Tinau Rural Municipality-4.
The fair which is organized every year on the occasion of the New Moon of Kartik at Satyavati Temple will be conducted on November 12 and 15.
Preparations are underway for the fair which is considered as one of its own is underway.
Discussions have been held with all the concerned parties to manage transportation, parking, and security, to facilitate the devotees who visit the temple asking their wishes loudly.
According to the chairperson of the temple Management Committee Dan Bahadur Gaha, the temple to road has been repaired.
Since tradition, there is a strange fair where people shout and ask for their wishes.
One can reach Satyavati Pond from Chaubish Mile of Siddhartha Highway and Jhumsha by foot and through the roadway.
Satavati fair is held on the full moon after Tihar. It is believed that Satyawati penanced in the middle of a dense forest and received immense strength.
It is believed that Satyavati was deaf therefore devoted belief that by asking their wishes loudly near Satyavati pond then Satyavati will fulfill their prayers and wishes.
Because of this belief, thousands of devotees come here every year on the full moon after Tihar and ask for a wish out loud.
People fix poles made of bamboo, sal (Shorea robusta) at night and worship it tomorrow morning.
