Kathmandu, Nov 8: The CPN (UML)'s Bagmati Province Committee has decided the candidates for upcoming by-election.
The meeting of the CPN (UML) Province Committee Secretariat convened on Friday decided the candidates to contest in the by-election for the vacant posts in the Bagmati Province, according to Dr Rajan Bhattarai, In-Charge of UML's Bagmati Province.
The names of the candidates were recommended by the party's district committees, Dr Bhattara said.
According to the decision of the meeting, Dr Surendra Manandhar will be contesting for the Kirtipur Municipality's mayor post, Uma Lungeli Magar for Vice-Chairperson for the Gaurishankar rural municipality in Dolakha district.
Similarly, representing the party, Laxmi Ratna Tuladhar will run the election for ward chairperson of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City ward no 16, Rajesh Nagarkoti for the ward chairperson of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City.
The by-election is scheduled on December 1 this year for various vacant seats in local levels across the country.(RSS)
