Kathmandu, Nov. 5: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested on charges of cooperative fraud on October 18, will be presented in the court on Tuesday for an extension of his detention.Although Lamichhane's statement was completed last week on Wednesday evening, he will be presented in court on Monday due to the five days of Tihar public holiday, according to the Kaski District Government Attorney's Office.
The police arrested Lamichhane from the party office in Banasthali, Kathmandu, in connection with the cooperative fraud case. Since he is in custody, he could not celebrate Bhai Tika this year, according to RSP leader Deepak Bohora. According to Bohora, Lamichhane received Bhai Tika blessings in a photo from two of his sisters and well-wishers.
RSP leaders have said that he has been spending his time in custody reading various books.
Following Lamichhane's statement, the police are also conducting further investigations on other individuals connected to him.
