Washington DC (USA), Oct. 25: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that Nepal has expected support from the international community to mitigate the impacts of climate change adding that Nepal has suffered from the climate change impacts.
At a high-level meeting on
biodiversity organized by the World Bank Group and Colombia, the Finance
Minister said that the conservation effort of Nepal's water resources and
natural diversity has witnessed a challenge due to the climate change
impacts.
Saying that Nepal has very little
contribution to climate change impacts, Finance Minister Poudel urged the
international community to ensure financing for climate-friendly funds for
Nepal.
Likewise, Minister Poudel stressed
the need for effective mobilization of mechanisms set up for reducing the
climate change impacts. (RSS)
