By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct 24: The CPN (Maoist Center) has said that it is organizing mass demonstration in Kathmandu on October 26 for good governance and relief and rehabilitation to the victims of the rain-induced disasters.
Issuing a
press release on Thursday, Maoist Center Vice-Chairman and Spokesperson Agni
Sapkota said that the rally was for making the government responsive to people,
particularly on issues related to nationality, democracy, livelihoods, good
governance and immediate relief and rehabilitation to victims of disasters.
"As the
opposition party in the parliament, we are holding a warning assembly to make
the government responsive to people in the context of the completion of 100
days of the government during which period the government spent time in protecting
the corrupt and attacked good governance," read the press release.
The main
opposition party has also blamed the government for lackluster response to
victims of the recent rain-induced disasters such as floods and landslides,
unnecessarily transferring the police officers investigating the Bhutanese refugees
scam and the gold scam, showing no interest in collecting dues of the electricity
tariff from the business people but trying to sack the chief of the NEA who has
done commendable work and taking excessive external loans.
