Kaski, Oct 21: Nepal Samajwadi Party's Coordinator and former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai underscored for a strong institution to investigate corruption cases.

Inaugurating the first legislative assembly of his party in Pokhara on Monday, Bhattarai rued over the lack of impartial and fair investigation into corruption cases and thus called for strong and well-resourced institution to combat corruption.

According to him, there was a tendency of accusing leaders from opposition parties while shielding their own party leaders from similar accusation. "This way, we cannot maintain good-governance. To control corruption, we need a strong institution," he insisted.

On a different note, he highlighted the need to retain youths within the country by creating jobs at home for further strengthening national unity. "National independence will weaken if there are no youths to strive for country's interest. Youths should be kept within the country by creating jobs," he observed, pressing for national unity among people of mountain, hill and Terai.

Expressing his confidence in his party's ideological political framework, he claimed that their ideologies will be established even if it takes some time.

According to him, his party's five principles to build 'New Nepal' would be realized and an alternative political power and thought will eventually prevail.

Warning against external forces trying to create instability in Nepal, he saw a need for further strengthening federalism and inclusive democracy to ensure unity among citizens of all regions-mountain, hill and Terai.(RSS)
