Four members of family killed in Dadeldhura bus accident

By Gokarna Dayal, Baitadi, Oct. 16: Four members of a family died when the night bus accident boarding 18 passengers met with an accident in Khasrekhan in Amargadhi Municipality-7 of Dadeldhura district at 11:45 PM on Tuesday. 

The whole Purchaudi of Baitadi is in mourning following the accident during the festival. 

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Jayamati Bohara, his minor son, 20-year-old Kamala Bohara, and 22-year-old Sahadev Bohara—all four hail from Purchaundi Municipality-3, Baitadi.

The night bus with a registration number (Na 8 Kha 1078) of Pawanduth Transport that was heading towards Hat, Purchaudi Municipality, Baitadi, from Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur district, veered off some 400 meters down the road resulting in human casualties. 

Police speculated that the driver could have fallen asleep at the wheel leading to the accident.

According to Police Inspector Upendra Bahadur Bam at District Police Office, Dadeldhura, two women, one man, and a child died on the spot.

 The bus driver Birendra Bohara was severely injured in the accident. He has been sent to Dhangadhi for treatment, while the other 13 injured are receiving treatment at Dadeldhura Hospital.
