Durga Bhawani idol immersion in Mahottari

Jaleshwor, Oct 13: The idol of Durga Bhawani made and set up at Durga Chowk of Jaleshwor municipality-2 in Mahottari district on the occasion of the Bada Dashain has been immersed in a local Barun pond.     

The immersion of the idols of Shiva, Ganesha, Kattik, Matalaxmi and Mata Saraswati together with a colossus of Durga Bhawani was conducted in the Barun reservoir, according to chair of puja organizing committee, Shiva Chandra Chaudhari.     

The idols were taken to the reservoir in separate vehicles after going through thoroughfares.     

Chairman Chaudhari informed that they had taken help of the Ranabhim battalion of Nepali Army considering the possible skirmishes in course of immersion.     

Pandit Lalit Jha and priest Ram Jivan Saha conducted special worship to all god and goddesses including the Mata Durga before setting out a procession to the pond. The deities were worshiped for ten days during the Dashain festival. (RSS)
