Meena Pariyar murder case: Order to send accused to custody for preliminary investigation

By Thakur Prasad Acharya, Myagdi, Sept.11: The District Court of Myagdi has ordered that all the accused in the murder case of 19-year-old Meena Pariyar of Toripani, Beni Municipality-9 of Myagdi, to be sent to custody for preliminary investigation. 

They were ordered to be sent to jail for the crime of murder after Tuesday's detention hearing of the Myagdi District Court.

Information Officer of Myagdi District Court Dilliraj Paudel said that the bench of Judge Prakash Prasad Pandit has ordered to keep him in jail for investigation until the case is finally decided. 

Chief of District Police Office, Myagdi, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bharat Shrestha said that the lover of Meena Ram Khatri, his mother Renu Khatri, elder brother Bikki Khatri, younger brother Rojan Khatri, and their relative Shyam Khatri of the same place, has been sent to Myagdi District Jail for detention. 

The body of Pariyar, who went missing on the night of January 16, was found on July 27 in the forest of Kalimool on the border of Beni municipality 9 and 10. Ram Khatri, 25, of Toripani, who was arrested on January 23, 2024, for the crime of missing person, was brought before the Myagdi District Court. According to the detention order dated 17th of February, the prison was opened for preliminary investigation.

Ram was arrested by the police on the same day that the Kitani complaint was registered based on the conversation between Meena and Ram on Messenger about the six-month abortion. On July 30, the family, who identified the body found in the buried state as being made of glass, filed a complaint against Ram, his mother Renu Khatri, 45, sister Vicky Khatri, brother Shyam Khatri and his brother-in-law Rojan Khatri, 23, at the district police office.
