Sangrila holds 10th AGM

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 27: The 10th Annual General Meeting and Social Audit of Sangrila Development Association has been completed.

The event held at a hotel in Lalitpur on Saturday was held under the chairmanship of Prakriti Bhandari, president of the organization, and Lok Bahadur Moktan, chairperson of Kailash rural municipality, as the chief guest.

The chief guest in the program, Village Chairman Moktan, praised Sangrila for working on how the lower classes can be promoted in the wards of the village. He also urged the organization to work closely with the local government. He also said that it is necessary to coordinate work in the fields of agriculture, health and education within the rural municipality. 

The special guest, Vice Chairman of Kailash Rural Municipality, Balkumar Malla Thakuri, said that Sangrila has worked keeping in mind the marginalized, Dalit and backward classes and suggested to work in an excellent and new way in the future. He requested to extend the program to other wards of the rural municipality.

Kailash Rural Municipality ward no. 3 chairman, Devlal Bal, said that thousands of patients of the village received services from the ambulance operated with the help of Sangrila. Tilak Bahadur Moktan, ward no. 4 chairman stated that Sangrila has done the work of parents in the ward and suggested expanding the work in all 10 wards.

Udas Kumar Bholan, the ward chairman of ward no. 7 and ward no. 8 chairman, Ashish Chepang, said that the work done by the organization is appreciable and has the full support and cooperation of the ward, according to a press note issued by Sangrila Development Association.

In the program, Nita Shahi, the special advisor of Sangrila Orphanage Home, said that it is commendable work by Sangrila Development to provide education to the girls by keeping the girls hostel.

President of Sangrila Orphanage Home, Yamuna Marasini, said that the organization works in the fields of education, agriculture and health and has also contributed to the country's human development index. 

Special Advisor of Sangrila Development, Jai Shankar Upadhyay expressed his best wishes stating that the organization works in a way that will be passed on in the future and that it will work all over Nepal.

Prakriti Bhandari, president of the organization, expressed her gratitude to the partner organization saying that the organization has crossed the tenth milestone. She said that the organization has carried out vital work in humanitarian crises such as earthquake, covid. She promised that in the future, the organization will move forward with a focus on sustainable results and environmental projects.

In the program, member of the organization Vikas Timilsina gave a welcome speech, Secretary Dasharath Ghimire gave information about the organization. Similarly, Program Coordinator Sagar Thapa gave a presentation about the project.

Puran Bahadur Khadka of Agriculture Project, Dhan Bahadur Moktan of Education Project, Hari Bahadur Budh Thapa, Coordinator of Jumla's Special Children Program, Health Social Coordinator Chameli Moktan and Soni Mallik of Health Project, Accounting Officer Samjhana Paudel, Hostel Warden Asmita Shrestha and Communication Coordinator Rajeev Prajapati presented the work details. The program was conducted by education staff Shiva Kumar Praja.

Established in the year 2071, the organization has been working in wards No. 3, 4, 7 and 8 of Kailash Rural Municipality of Makawanpur and ward no 2 of Chandannath Municipality of Jumla. The organization currently has a partnership with S.A. Switzerland and G.A. Germany.
