12th Graduate Conference commences in Janakpurdham

Mahendranagar (Dhanusha), April 5: The 12th Graduate Conference focused on research and innovation has kicked off today in Janakpurdham.

The conference is on the theme - 'Emerging Frontier of Research and Innovation in Nepal.' The Conference is organised by the Rajarshi Janak University, Research Centre Janakpurdham.

Inaugurating the two-day conference, Vice Chancellor of Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences, Dr Ankur Shah, said that research should be prioritised for the overall development of the country.

He said, "Innovative thinking and experimentation are necessary in the fields of health, technology, and education. There should be high-level coordination and collaboration between universities and relevant stakeholders to translate research into practice."

Vice Chancellor Dr Shah highlighted the emerging areas of research and innovation in Nepal.

Dr Amar Prasad Yadav, Vice Chancellor of Rajarshi Janak University, said that the university is undertaking various initiatives to create a research-oriented environment in higher education, emphasising policy reforms and infrastructure development to attract students to research.

Registrar of Rajarshi Janak University, Satya Narayan Sah, emphasised that the university is committed to managing the necessary resources and producing skilled manpower to enhance the quality of research, stating that research should provide solutions to the real problems of society.

Dr Binod Yadav, Registrar of Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences, discussed the importance of research in the health sector and emphasised the need to incorporate research findings into policy making.

The conference with a notable participation from experts in the fields of education, health, and research, is expected to have in-depth discussions on the promotion of research, development of innovation, and enhancement of educational quality.

In the programme, postgraduate students will present their research papers on various topics including health, science, technology and sociology.

The organisers have expressed the belief that the conference is expected to strengthen research and innovation further and contribute to educational and scientific development. (RSS)
