Education must contribute in developing progressive, peaceful society: PM Oli

Kathmandu, Aug 26: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that education must contribute for developing progressive, modern and a peaceful society.     

During the 12th Assembly of Far-Western University organized at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar on Monday, Chancellor of the University, Oli, mentioned that the university should contribute by producing personalities with good qualities. "Teachers should teach students to become polite, humble and loyal. Otherwise, it cannot be considered that society-friendly education was achieved", stressed PM Oli.     

Stating that he had attended the discussion held before the establishment of Far-Western University, he suggested the university office-bearers to impart education reflecting the culture of far-west.     

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hemraj Panta presented a proposal about overall situation of the University while Registrar Prof Yagya Raj Pathak shared about programmes and budget of the university.     

Minister for Education, Science and Technology and Pro-Chancellor Bidya Bhattarai was present on the occasion.(RSS)
