Devdaha, April 7 : The people's representatives from Siddharthanagar Municipality in Rupandehi have asked the authorities for the operation of the Gautam Buddha International Airport at the earliest.
During the inauguration event of the Siddharthanagar Municipality's administrative building on Monday, the people's representatives urged the federal government for a serious effort to bring the international airport into operation.
On the occasion, the Mayor of Siddharthanagar Municipality, Ishtiyak Ahamad Khan, viewed that the airport built by investing billions of rupees should be brought into operation as early as possible.
Mayor Khan expressed confidence that the country's economic activities will remain vibrant if the airport were run.
"Operation of the airport will not only contribute to the development activities of Bhairahawa. This will support the nation's development efforts. It will increase tourists' arrival," Mayor Khan added.
Likewise, spokesperson of the municipality, Muktinath Yadav, said that industrialists and businesspeople in this area have suffered due to the lack of commercial operation of the airport. (RSS)
