Kathmandu, Aug 14: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said the agreement reached among the political parties to conclude the peace process is itself an opportunity to create a history.

During deliberations on the Bill designed to amend the Investigation on the Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act (third amendment) – 2079BS in the House of Representatives today, the leader said the peace process has neared a conclusion and there should be no further delay towards that end.

"The peace process is on the verge of completion; lets' not make further delay. State's investment has gone into waste in the past," the former Prime Minister said, adding the survivors communities are in the long wait for justice, those responsible for heinous crime must be punished and there should be no feeling for revenge over the past incidents.

AS he said, the House today is expected to pass the Bill, setting history. He was of the opinion of taking strategies to address the issues of survivors and the transitional justice is the concern of all political parties, instead of certain parties.

He underlined the need of a wider cooperation to conclude all affairs relating to transitional justice, adding his party is fully committed towards that end. He said he had played a significant role in implementing the peace process in the country.(RSS)
