One employee died, three others injured due to electrocution

Solukhumbu, Aug 11: An employee of the electricity office has died due to electrocution in Solukhumbu headquarters Salleri. Three others were injured in the incident. Bishnu Rai, 43, a senior technician of Salleri Chalsa Electricity Company, died due to electric shock, according to the province police office Biratnagar.    


Provincial Police Chief DIG Chandra Kuver Khapung informed that Rai was electrocuted while trimming the trees around the electric wires on Saturday afternoon.    


In the same incident, a 30-year-old Buddhi Rajbhandari of Solududhakund municipality-6, who is working as a technical assistant of the electricity company, 34-year-old Tashi Sherpa of the same address and 51-year-old Kumar Basnet, who is working as a wage earner in the company, who were injured in the same incident, are being treated at District Hospital Faplu, said Memkumari Maskey, the financial officer of the company.    


Tashi Sherpa, who was injured in the incident, said that the electricity company with a capacity of 630 kilowatts was cutting trees around the high-tension line when there was a sudden flow of electricity and four people were electrocuted. He said that they were not aware of the current flow and were electrocuted when they grasped the wire. (RSS)
