Industry minister Bhandari inspects Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Port

Kathmandu, Aug 10: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari has inspected the Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Port in Haldia, India on Saturday.     

On the occasion, he held a discussion with the officials of the port about the ways to facilitate trade transit to Nepal, his secretariat said.     

Also present in the discussion were joint secretary Baburam Adhikari, who is assigned at the bilateral section of the Ministry of Commerce and the official of the Consulate General in Calcutta.     

Minister Bhandari instructed the Consulate General and Godown Company Limited to work in a way to yield concrete results knowing about the procedural problems surfaced in trade with third countries.     

He discussed on the use of the land leased by Nepal Transport and Warehousing Company Limited within the Haldia Port Interior Zone on long-term basis.(RSS)
