Weather: Rain and snowfall forecast in some areas

Kathmandu, April 26: Due to the partial influence of the Westerly and local winds, it is cloudy in various parts of the country.

At present, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, have generally cloudy condition while the Tarai region of Sudurpashchim Province is mainly clear.

Moderate rainfall and snowfall are occurring in some areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces and in one or two places in Bagmati Province.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather will be generally cloudy in the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions, while the rest of the areas will be partly cloudy this afternoon. 

There are chances of moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, including Madhesh.

Rain is also predicted in one or two places in the Tarai region of Lumbini Province. There is a possibility of temperatures rising in the Tarai region of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Province.

Similarly, tonight there will generally be cloudy weather in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country and partly cloudy in the Tarai region. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in some places of the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

At the same time, the temperature is gradually increasing in most parts of the country. The Department predicts a rise in temperature in the Tarai, valleys and basins of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. The Department has requested the general public in these areas to remain vigilant.(RSS)
