Poverty eradication prerequisite to prosperity: PM

Kathmandu, Aug 10: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said national ambition of the 'Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali' would not be fulfilled unless the poverty is eradicated from the country. 

Addressing the installation of 'Lions International District 325 K' and the first Cabinet today, Prime Minister pointed out the need of laying special emphasis on employment, production and entrepreneurship to graduate the country from the list of least developed country to the developing ones. The government has been focusing its attention towards it, he reminded.

The Prime Minister opined "Twenty per cent Nepalis are still below the poverty line. Building prosperous Nepal needs such environment that fulfills the basic needs of the people and paves way for further progress."

He reminded, "He had talked on it during the recent meeting with a representatives of the United Nations.  Security, peace and prosperity of human are our common concern.  Safety of the earth may be at risk if there is no security of human. All should work with a sentiment that security of human is the first responsibility."

Clarifying that he had been carrying out activities without compromising power and for the politics of truth and honesty, PM Oli expressed the commitment that the incumbent government would always stay with Lions that foster truth and human services.  

He reiterated the commitment of focusing himself in nation's development. Stating that it was the responsibility of politics and political parties to organise the society, PM Oli argued the tendency of defaming others based on falsehood was not wrong. (RSS)
