Landslide blocks Karnali highway

Jumla, Aug 10: The Karnali highway has been blocked due to a landslide. The highway remains blocked since last night after the landslide in Ranchuli, Molfa and Furke of Kalikot district under the Surkhet-Jumla road section of the highway.

The work of removing the landslide debris has been going on since morning, said Information Officer of Road Division Office, Jumla, Bir Bahadur JT. The Highway will resume operation for traiffic after the completion of landslide debris removal in the blocked areas.

As a result, hundreds of passengers remain stranded as the vehicles on the way to Surkhet, Nepalgunj and Kathmandu from Jumla and Mugu remain stuck on the way. (RSS)
