Minister Chaudhary pledges new Act for Nepal Scouts

Kathmandu, Aug 6: Minister for Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary, has said initiatives would be taken to bring a new Act for the Nepal Scouts.     

At a programme organised here today, Minister Chaudhary shared, "Nepal Scouts is running as per the Act formulated in 2050 BS. I will make efforts to formulate other acts required for the organisation during my tenure."     

He underscored that as the country has adopted federal structure, it is necessary to transform the Nepal Scouts accordingly.     

Minister Chaudhary stressed that Nepal Scouts would help youths and children in character building if it could be expanded to all 753 local levels.     

The Sports Minister expressed concern over decreasing social culture and morality among youths and children. He also lauded the role played by the Nepal Scouts during natural disasters.(RSS)
