Cases can't proceed without law: Home Minister Lekhak

Kathmandu, Aug 1: Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak, has said the rule of law is one of the elements among the basic components of democracy.     

During the discussion organised by the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee at Singha Durbar on Thursday, Minister Lekhak mentioned that cases could not proceed ahead without legal basis in a democracy.     

"Cases could not be filed at someone's wish. It is filed according to the law," he stressed, adding, "I want to express commitment that the government will keep the issue on priority."     

He requested the committee to provide necessary suggestions to the government. The Home Minister mentioned that the transfer of police, and employees is a continuous process.     

"Employees are transferred and promoted. Generally, the time period is fixed, but sometimes they are transferred before the fixed period. It's not a big issue," shared Home Minister Lekhak, urging to take such process as a normal. (RSS)
