Two nabbed for murdering former minister Raya

By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, June  30: It has been revealed that former minister of state for land reforms Ram Chandra Raya Yadav was killed by an aide who worked at his house after falling into financial temptation. 

It has been confirmed that Yadav was killed by a young man working in the house after falling into financial temptation given by a person who had been in dispute with former Minister Yadav for a long time regarding land. 

The arrestees have been identified as Raya’s aide Ram Ujjain Raya (25) of Kabilashi Municipality-3 and his neighbor Birendra Raya (46) of Chandranagar Rural Municipality-1. 

The conspirator Birendra Raya (46) had lured Ram Ujjan to kill the former minister with Rs 200,000 in cash and a firm for business. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, Rabindra Bahadur Singh said that it looks like Ram Ujjan was the one who blew a fatal shot killing Yadav in the conspiracy of the entrenched neighbor Birendra Raya. 

The incident came to light after locals found Raya lying dead in a pool of blood at his Ratanpur-based residence and informed the police. He was murdered by using a sharp weapon at his farmhouse in Ratanpur, Chandranagar Rural Municipality-1 on July 21.

The conspirator and co-conspirator were made public by the District Police Office, Sarlahi, by organizing a press conference on Monday evening. 

Raya had served as the state minister when Surya Bahadur Thapa was the prime minister in 1997.
