Syarpu Lake waiting for its gazers

By Raju Lamichhane, Rukum( West), July 27: The eye-catching Syarpu Lake, a main tourist destination of the Rukum (West) district has allured many tourists with its magnetic beauty.

The Syarpu Lake which covered 2.6 square kilometers in wards 3 and 4 of the Banphikot Rural Municipality becomes further alluring in the rainy season as it is filled with blue waters.

The shape of Syarpu Lake is different during the rainy and winter seasons. It not only changes shapes but also the color. The lake which is whole from July to October slowly decreases in winter without losing its enchanting beauty. 

Hira Lal KC, a local homestay owner, said that a full Syarpu Lake is oozing with magnetic beauty, and is attracting many people.

He said that there is an influx of people enjoying the lake by clicking pictures and making videos, eatery of organic homestay during holiday than weekdays. 

Tourism entrepreneur Gopal KC said that it is beneficial to bathe in water because the water flowing from the mountains mixes with the lake. It has a special significance because the water with herbs is mixed in the lake. 

It takes about three hours on foot from Musikot Khalanga, the headquarters of Rukum (West) district. There is a 20-kilometer motorable road to the Syarpu Lake.
