Kathmandu July 25: Joint-secretaries from various ministries representing the technical stream have demanded the government reinstate Technical Secretary posts that were previously cut.

Today they called on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, to express how removing these positions have hindered their career development opportunities.

Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Madhu Prasad Bhetwal, said the elimination of secretary roles within the engineering service at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has obstructed the career advancement of technical human resources in the civil service.

Highlighting the role of the technical workforce in realizing the government's goals for development and prosperity, he called for the mobilization of technical experts in the relevant sectors as needed.

In response, the Minister assured the joint secretaries that their concerns would be addressed. He said the government is aware of the significance of motivation among employees and their better performance to ensure effective government operations. (RSS)
