Govt decides against letting President's office use police academy land

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 23: The government has decided that the land area of the National Police Training Academy at Maharajgunj will be used by the Academy itself, not the Office of the President.

Overturning the Cabinet decision of 17 August 2018, today's Cabinet meeting decided that 114.3 ropani of land which previously belonged to National Police Training Academy will be used by the Academy instead of the Office of the President.

The Cabinet in 2018 had decided to transfer the land to the President's office.

Informing the media about the Cabinet decision after the meeting, government spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel said that the government also decided to form a taskforce to study software and IT being used in government agencies.

Similarly, the meeting decided to form a dialogue team to finalise related document and financial agreement on subsided loan of 115 million dollar to be received from Asian Development Bank for integrated water supply and sewerage management sector project.
