Cabinet decisions: Cities free of street children in a year

Kathmandu, July 24: The government has decided to wipe out one of the nagging problems in cities, street children, in a year.     

Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Spokesperson of the government, Prithvi Subba Gurung, shared that the Cabinet meeting decided to ensure cities free of street children by mid-July next year.     

The families of those gone disappeared after any disaster and not traced even after 10 days of the tragic incidents would be provided equal monetary relief to that provided to the families of the dead ones.     

Minister Gurung further shared that the government extended condolences to the members of those killed in various disasters and tribute to the dead ones. Those surviving with injury are wished speedy recovery.     

Similarly, the government is installing a floodlight to meet the international standard of cricket stadium at Kirtipur. A parapet would be constructed within 300 days.     

The meeting also assigned Minister Subba as the government spokesperson.     

The proposals forwarded to the Council of Ministers or under consideration at various committees under the Council of Ministers have been retracted to the originating ministries.     

Moreover, Leela Devi Gadtaula, has been assigned the Acting Chief Secretary of Nepal government as per the Cabinet decision.     

All the known and unknown martyrs playing role on establishment of democracy have been paid tribute by the government.(RSS)
