Energy sector key to development: Minister Khadka

Kathmandu, July 20: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, has said energy sector is important for the development of Sankhuwasabha district. 

At a programme organised by the Sankhuwasabha-Kathmandu Journalist Association (SKAJ) to congratulate and extend best wishes to newly appointed Minister Khadka, he mentioned that the role of energy sector for economic development of Sankhuwasabha is crucial. 

Minister Khadka was elected to the post of a member of House of Representatives from Sankhuwasabha in 2079BS election. 

He stressed that his top priority is the development of Sankhuwasabha, stating that the people of the district could achieve economic prosperity through the Upper Arun Hydropower Project. 

Similarly, former Secretary of the government, Sharada Prasad Trital, urged Minister Khadka to pay attention on energy development by using his expertise. 

President of the SKAJ, Shankar Khanal, laid emphasis on the need of taking forward the economic development of Sankhuwasasbha which is rich in means and resources.

Khanal shared the development of the district could make a stride if activities could be carried out by taking energy and tourism sector together.(RSS)
