Promotion of Sagarmatha can help increase tourists flow

Kathmandu, April 5: World renowned Nepali mountaineer Mingma Gyalbo Sherpa has said since the Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) is the pride and identity of Nepal, the arrival of tourists could be increased only if Sagarmatha is promoted worldwide.

At a programme organised here today to inform about Everest Tourism Award and World Peace Summit, he emphasized the need of organizing such types of programmes to attract more investment in tourism sector. 

The A.M.S. Global Himalaya Foundation is going to organise the Award and Summit in Kathmandu from May 29.

Founding Chairperson of the Foundation, Satya Kala Tamang Lama, shared that the Award and Summit in Kathmandu in course of organsing various promotional events in order to inform the world about Nepal's folk art, culture and tourism. Representatives of more than 30 countries will be participating in the event. 

Lama added the Foundation has already conducted such programmes in Japan, Philippines, China, UAE, Canada and Sudan. 

On the occasion, tourism entrepreneurs Jimba Jyangbu Sherpa, Damodar Ghimire, Mingma Dorjee Sherpa and Asim Rai, and journalist Rishi Dhamala, among others, stressed on development of tourism sector for country's economic prosperity. (RSS)
