By Our Correspondent,Humla, July 12: A hotel opened by Limi Cooperative Organisation has come into operation in Takchi of Limi, a village beyond the Himalayas in Namkha Rural Municipality-6.
The hotel caters services to the tourists visiting Lapcha from where they can have a view of Kailash Mansarovar located in Tibet, China.
Kailash Mansarovar is a popular religious pilgrimage site for the Hindus.
Chhiring Kaap Lama, Chairman of the Limi Hotel Cooperative Organisation, said that the hotel facilitates Nepali pilgrims by ensuring comfortable accommodations. Although there were a few hotels in the rural municipality, tourists often complained about the lack of adequate facilities. After pilgrims started visiting Lapcha to have a view of Kailash Mansarovar, both domestic and international visitors voiced a need for improved lodging, prompting the cooperatives to step in. The hotel has been designed to meet the tourists' needs.
Cooperative member Kunchok Tamang said that the hotel has come into operation in a building initially constructed by the ward. According to him, no tourist visiting Lapcha has to face the problem of food and lodging now.
The hotel, located at an altitude of 4,200 meters, can accommodate up to 60 guests per night. Each room is equipped with an attached bathroom. Guests are offered a package including lodging and three meals a day for Rs. 1,900 per night for domestic tourists and slightly more for international tourists. Additionally, the hotel provides two Bolero Jeeps to ferry the pilgrims to Lapcha from where Mansarovar Kailash could be seen.
Daily, five to six tourists willing to visit Lapcha are staying in the hotel since its opening.
The operational team of the hotel includes a skilled chef and four staff members. To facilitate communication, an annual fee of Rs. 12,000 is paid to Nepal Telecom for Visayat Telephone services.
