By A Staff Reporter,Lalitpur, May 14: A series of programmes organised from May 6 to commemorate the 105th birth anniversary of Satyamohan Joshi, renowned for living a healthy life embodying "Simple Living, High Thinking" for 103 years, concluded at Lok Sahitya Parishad in Bakhundol, Lalitpur, on Sunday.
Under the leadership of Lok Sahitya Parishad’s chairman Rajit Bahadur Shrestha, the week-long programme included book exhibition on May 6, 105 oil-fed lamps were lit at the Pulangu Guhyeshwari on May 7, a museum tour was organised on May 8, Nam Sangiti on May 9, Satyamohan's literary readings on May 10, a cycle rally was organised on May 11 and six literary works were released on May 12.
Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Cooperatives of Bagmati Province Shailendra Man Bajracharya and other literary figures unveiled the six works which included Malla K. Sundar's "Lumanti Kicha", Bijay Ratna Asanbare's "Sankipayaa Nhaykan," Anuraj Joshi's " "Lumanti Kichayala Mahakabya Wo Shatabdi Abhinandan", " Dharma Krishna Chapalichen Shrestha's "Thimi Syasyah Binan," Ishwari Maiya Shrestha's "Nepal Bhasha Padyaaya Kicha," and Krishnapyari Chandyo Shrestha's "Bodeya Nilabarahi Dyagan Nakegu Parampara."
Additionally, the first woman journalist from the Newar community to successfully summit Sagarmatha (Mount Everest) from Nepal and China's side, Kalpana Maharjan, was honoured.
On the occasion, Minister Bajracharya stressed the importance of citizens reading and understanding the state's policies outlined in government gazettes. He expressed concern that a lack of understanding could lead to citizens inadvertently forfeiting their rights.
