Kathmandu,
May 13: Famous Mithila artist Ranju Yadav’s international solo art exhibition
has been organised in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 11 and 12.
The
two-day solo art exhibition was organised at the gallery of Restaurant Nepali Bhancha
in Copenhagen.
Nepali
Ambassador to Denmark Prof. Dr. Ramswarth Ray inaugurated the exhibition on
Saturday.
Nepali Embassy Denmark, NRNA Denmark and Restaurant Nepali Bhancha jointly organised the exhibition.
As
many as 32 Mithila paintings created by artist Yadav were displayed in the
exhibition. The artworks reflected the society and culture of Nepal.
Earlier,
artist Yadav had gave training on Mithila painting to children of Nepali and
Indian Diasporas in Copenhagen on May 10. About fifty trainees participated in
the art workshop organised by NRNA Denmark. Parents who came to the workshop
with their children also learned to draw Mithila arts from artist Yadav.
Artist
Yadav, who was honored with Nepal's prestigious National Fine Arts Award, is
currently in Denmark under her 33-day European art tour. After Denmark, she
will visit Sweden. Then, her destination will be Finland. Another international
solo art exhibition of artist Yadav will be held in Helsinki of Finland on May
19.
Earlier,
Yadav's international solo art exhibition was organised in Frankfurt, Germany,
on April 20. The artworks of Yadav were put on a one-day exhibition at the
invitation and organization of Nepali Samaj, Germany. Yadav, who left for
Europe on April 18, is scheduled to return to Nepal on May 21.
