Actor CP Lohani passes away

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 30: Actor CP Lohani (Chidambaram Prasad Lohani) of the first film produced by the private sector, ‘Maitighar’ passed away on Monday.

He was 86.

Lohani breathed his last at the Annapurna Neuro Hospital in Maitighar, Kathmandu, informed Mohan Niraula, President of Film Association Nepal. 

His funeral rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Monday. 

Not just an actor, Lohani also showcased his talent as a singer, having recorded several songs for Radio Nepal, including those featured in ‘Maitighar’.

 His rendition of ‘Punragaman’ stands as his final musical contribution.

Additionally, Lohani was the husband of Mala Sinha, a celebrated actress across Nepali, Hindi and Bengali cinema.

 Lohani is survived by his wife and daughter.
