Dragon and lion dance show in Kathmandu on eve of Chinese New Year

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 9: The dragon and lion dance, a traditional Chinese folk dance, was performed at Thamel, a tourist hub, in Kathmandu today, on the eve of Chinese New Year.

Chinese students from Yunnan University performed the cultural show that enthralled the audience in the street.


Nepali Congress leader and former deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, were also present during the show.

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is beginning from tomorrow and this year is the year of Dragon.


The Chinese Embassy in Nepal is holding a series of events to mark the Spring Festival in Nepal including the friendly football match between China and Nepal on Saturday while the Chinese lantern show is going on at Ratna Park in Kathmandu.
