New executive body in Constitutional Lawyers’ Forum

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Jan 18: The 21^st Annual General Meeting of the Constitutional Lawyers’ Forum (CLaF) elected new executive committee under the leadership of advocate Om Prakash Aryal.

Similarly, the meeting unanimously elected advocate Liladhar Upadhyaya as general secretary, advocate Sharmila Shrestha as vice-chairperson and advocate Rosan Pokharel as treasurer.

Members of the new committee include senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, advocate Ambar Raut, advocate Roshani Paudyal and advocate Pawan Jayasawal.

The Forum was formed in 2003 to fight against royal takeover and for restoration of democracy, rule of law and constitutional supremacy.  This is an expert organisation engaged on constitutional dialogue, research and advocacy.

A five member election committee was formed under the coordination of advocate Dr. Bhimarjun Acharya, the founding chairperson of the Forum. Members of the election committee include senior advocates Dr. Chandra Kanta Gyawali, Tika Ram Bhattarai, advocates Raju Prasad Chapagain and Lalit Basnet.
