Locals of Lapche grapple with network problem

blog

By Our Correspondent,Humla, Jan. 8: Locals of Lapche in Sarkegad Rural Municipality-2, Humla district, are left with no option but to attach a wooden stick to their mobile phones to get connected with the mobile network.

Kamal Kathayat, a local, said that it was difficult to get a mobile network in the area. He said, ''We need to attach our cell phone to a wooden stick to catch the network. For the past two years, locals have been using this method to get mobile network."

Kathayat has been operating a hotel business in Lapche, and has been providing communication service to customers applying the same process.

Additionally, due to the remoteness of the area, he has been offering motorcycle services to customers by managing motorbikes from Syaltadi and Sarkegad.

With recent improvements in road connectivity across the Karnali River, the hustle and bustle of people has increased significantly, but residents continue to face challenges connecting to the mobile networks.
