NSJF Pulsar Sports Award on Jan. 26

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 8: The 20th edition of the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award, the most famous sports award of the country, has been scheduled for January 26, organisers informed.

The Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) has joined hand with Hansraj Hulaschand and Company once again for the award programme.

"It has been 15 years that the NSJF has been coordinating with Hansraj Hulaschand and Company for the sports award. We are thankful for the company, its chairman Shekhar Golchha and the Golchha Group for their continuous support," said Durga Nath Subedi, president of NSJF.

Abhimanyu Golchha, director at Golchha Group, and Subedi signed in the agreement papers for the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award 2024 amidst a press conference at Royal Singi Hotel in Kathmandu on Sunday.

NSJF general secretary Prajwal Oli informed that athletes in nine categories will be honoured and the nomination list in five categories will be made public soon.

"Athletes will be awarded under best men player, best women player, best youth player, best coach and people's choice categories. The list of nominated players for the five categories will be disclosed within a couple of days," read a statement by the NSJF.

"Hansraj Hulaschand and Company will provide two Bajaj Pulsar NS250 and three Bajaj Pulsar NS160 for the winning players in the five categories," said Golchha.

According to the organisers, no nomination lists will be revealed for awards under lifetime, special, para-athlete and Asian Sports Journalist categories. "The winners for the four categories will be revealed on the day of the programme," the statement read.

The athletes will be adjudged under the basis of their performance during the award's reference period from mid-April 2022 to mid-April 2023.
