Three authors honoured

By A Staff Reporter,Lalitpur, Dec. 3: World Nepali Literature Federation Lalitpur branch honoured three authors active in Nepali literature at a literary function organised in Lalitpur recently.

At the fourth literary serial of the branch, senior poet Shailendra Sakar was felicitated with Sahitya Shree Honour. Likewise, Poet Avaya Shrestha was awarded with Lalit Kavya Honour for the contribution in poetry while novelist Bijay Hitan with Srasta Shree Honour for his contribution to the field of eco-literature. 

Chairman of Jyoti Literature Academy Maniraj Singh handed over the letter of honour to poet Sakar while Sakar and Singh did the same to Shrestha and Hitan.

At the programme, a poetry competition was also held among students of Pawan Prakriti School of Tikathali, Lalitpur. Poet Sakar gave away the awards and certificates to three winners of the competition. Chairman of the branch Buddhiman Maharjan informed that the competition will be held every month in the series for which the competitors should send their poems by the first week of every month.

Maharjan, Sakar, Singh, Divya Giri, Sudha Mishra, Bijay Hitan, Renu Ghimire, Sangita Thakur, Yamuna Pradhananga, Rajesh Man KC, Ramnath Adhikari, Neera Shrestha, Juman Kiran, Rubina Rana Magar, Harka Kunwar, Bishnu Rai, KB Paudel and Sunita Adhikari recited their poems. Certificates to the new members of the branch were also distributed at the same function.

According to general secretary of the branch Sudha Mishra, the literary serial is being held on the second Saturday of every month in different areas of Lalitpur district.
