By Yadu Prasad Bhatta,Manang, Dec. 26: Extreme cold has forced the schools of Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality to move to Kathmandu.

According to Konjo Tenzing Lama, chairman of the rural municipality, the Nar Basic School of Nar and Phu Basic School of Phu had moved to Kathmandu. He informed that the local level had arranged for the schools' 18 students to live in the capital and had coordinated with a school in Nagarjun to operate their classes.

The two schools moved to Kathmandu on Sunday. They will return to Narpa Bhumi for the new academic session after three and a half months. The government offices and police stations in Narpa Bhumi have already moved to the district headquarters to avoid the freezing chill.

The rural municipality has also established a temporary office at Koto, Chame Rural Municipality-3, to deliver services.

The residents have also moved to Lamjung, Kathmandu and Pokhara to evade the cold. This has made Narpa Bhumi empty.
