By Nisha Rai,Dharan, Dec. 25: Dharan Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Harka Sampang Rai has said that an airport will be built and brought into operation smoothly in Dharan.
Speaking at a greetings exchange programme organised on the occasion of Udhauli, Chasok, Losar and Christmas in Dharan on Sunday, Mayor Sampang said that the airport should be built either by creating a necessary environment or amending the necessary laws.
He said that the land provided by Dharan residents had been neglected for years and middlemen had even started selling it. He said that disputes should not arise in the name of religion instead the followers of one religion should accept and respect the other.
Similarly, Dharan Sub-metropolitan City’s Deputy Mayor Aindra Bikram Begha said that the sub-metropolis would not take sides of one religion as all religions and castes were considered equal by the state. He said that people with different ethnicities and religions had been living in peace and harmony in the country for a long time celebrating each other's cultures together.
Professor Dr. Tanka Neupane said that people must develop a sense of harmony instead of focusing on caste and religion. According to him, cultural deviation has occurred due to the lack of awareness and cultural values.
