KMC to move for long-term management system of garbage: Mayor Shah

By TRN Online, Dec 15: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Shah has requested Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' for assistance to find a way out for a long-term solution to garbage management in the Kathmandu Valley. 

Addressing the 29th Municipality ceremony, he stated that the federal government, provincial government and local government have equal responsibility for garbage management.

He said that he is optimistic that the garbage management problem will be solved within the next three years. 

Mayor Shah requested PM Prachanda for help reimbursement of the dues of the Tinkue area. 

He said that there is yet to find a way to overcome challenges created in Tinkune reimbursement dues, encroachment of rivers, and garbage management.
