By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 13: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has prepared plans to build as many as 264 bus stops around the city.
The KMC is preparing to upgrade the transport system of the city by managing bus routes, extending pelican crossing light, managing one-way roads and petrol pumps setting guidelines for motorcycle garages and managing cone and diversion, traffic lights and signs.
Along with this, setting a fixed time for vehicle transporting of the daily essentials, vehicle goods carrier, school buses, managing parking, and organizing an awareness program about the transportation system.
It was informed during an interaction about the coordination and cooperation of Traffic Police and KMC on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the KMC organized at the KMC on Wednesday.
Basanta Adhikari, Chief Administrative Officer at the KMC said that the first round of meetings of the Urban Public Transportation System has already been held and the collective work has been commenced.
He said, “If the small effort of today can contribute to improvement of the system, then, we should start working together.”
He said that auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws and cart pulls will be completely banned in the city.
