Construction entrepreneurs' council to provide 3 million to quake survivors

Kathmandu, Dec 5: The Construction Entrepreneurs' Development Council has decided to provide Rs 3 million to the earthquake survivors.

The council's meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Prakash Jwala, took this decision. Rs 3 million would be provided to the quake survivors for relief, reconstruction and educational materials, according to the Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Raghuram Bista.

Of the total amount, Rs 2.5 million would be provided for relief and reconstruction and half a million rupees for purchasing educational materials at schools.

Bista further informed that that amount would now be deposited at the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund.

The meeting also urged all sides concerned to extend support to the quake survivors who are battling cold at present.

Minister Jwala had already declared that he would also provide his one-and-a-half month salary to the quake-hit people as relief. (RSS)
