Lumbini, April 23: The Lumbini provincial government has announced that it would prioritize long-term and provincial pride projects in the upcoming budget.
During an interaction held by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning in Butwal on Thursday, Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya said the foremost priority will be the multi-year projects that bear provincial significance and pride. Completion of ongoing projects is an equal priority, he added.
CM Acharya vowed the budget that reflects the province's actual economic conditions. Only a realistic financial plan is functional for development, he said, adding that current revenue, approximately Rs. 6 billion, is expected to rise to Rs. 6.5 billion in the upcoming fiscal year.
According to him, the necessity and justification are other bases for budget making which also reflects learning from previous shortcomings and making progress accordingly. Acharya underscored the need of independent functioning of all three levels of government as per constitutional framework. (RSS)
