Government's commitment to honour artists

Kathmandu, Nov 29: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, has said the government was committed to honour the artists.     

At a programme 'Music and Radio Nepal' organised at Radio Nepal on Wednesday, Minister Sharma mentioned that the state would honour the artists of the country.     

"The role of Radio Nepal for the promotion of music as well as in the sector of communication and entertainment is significant. Now, the Radio Nepal should make itself advanced as per the development in communication sector and should become the means of raising the voice of people."     

Also the spokesperson of the government, Minister Sharma viewed that the Ministry was ready to resolve the problems of payment of write-ups if any.     

Similarly, artists participating in the programme, laid emphasis that Radio Nepal should preserve and promote creations of artists.     

Singer Mira Rana, Chairperson of Royalty Society and musician Suresh Adhikari, musician Laxman Shesh, artists Mahesh Khadka, singer Satya Raj Acharya, among others stressed that the state should honour artists.     

Similarly, Executive Director of Radio Nepal, Buddhi Bahadur KC, mentioned that the Radio Nepal was always ready to honour artists.(RSS)
