Damak, Nov. 22: Locals living near the proposed industrial park and other areas in Ward No. 10 of Damak Municipality have said that jackals and wild boars have, of late, been terrifying them.

“While wild boars are destroying our produce, jackals are attacking people and cattle,” said Nagendra Mani Neupane, a local.

Neupane informed that 45-year-old Kabita Tamang, a local of Setumari area, was attacked by a jackal Tuesday morning while she was working inside her house. She is receiving treatment at Damak Hospital.

“One another individual was also attacked by a jackal. People have stopped leaving their houses even in broad daylight,” Neupane stressed.

According to the locals, jackals and wild boars stay hidden in the bushes around the proposed industrial park near the bank of the Ratuwa River, and they time and often enter the villages and attack the people.

They also complained that the local government paid no attention to their problems despite drawing their attention multiple times.
